We started A Place To Visit because most travel writing falls into one of two camps: glossy lists that pretend everything is affordable, or hardcore backpacker logs that assume you have six months and no responsibilities. Most of us live somewhere in between, curious, a bit busy, watching what we spend, and quietly tired of seeing the same five cities recommended over and over.

So we write the kind of guide we wanted: honest about cost, honest about effort, and genuinely excited about the places that are worth your time. If a destination needs a long flight and a week to really land, we'll say so. If a "hidden gem" is actually packed and overpriced, we'll say that too.

We believe the interesting trip is closer than you think. You don't need to be rich, retired, or fearless, you just need someone to be straight with you about what it actually takes. That's what we're here for.
