Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 26/06/2026
The short version
A Place To Visit is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you click one and go on to book or buy something, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use our link or not.
We only ever recommend things we genuinely believe will help you travel better. The commissions help keep this site running and the content free, but they never change what we recommend or what we tell you.
The fuller explanation
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a special tracking link. When you click it and then make a booking or purchase with that company, they pay us a small percentage of the sale as a thank-you for the referral. Think of it as the company sharing a little of their marketing budget with us instead of spending it on advertising.
The crucial point: this comes out of the company's pocket, not yours. You never pay a penny more for using our links.
Who we work with
We partner with travel companies and booking platforms through affiliate networks. Our main partner is Travelpayouts, which connects us with flight search, accommodation, tours, and other travel services. As the site grows we may add other reputable travel partners, and this disclosure covers all of them.
How this affects our recommendations
It doesn't, and we want to be completely straight with you about that. We choose what to feature based on what we think is genuinely useful, good value, and right for the kind of travel we write about. A company paying a higher commission does not earn a better write-up, a higher ranking, or a recommendation it doesn't deserve.
If we point you towards a paid tour, we'll also tell you when there's a free or cheaper way to do the same thing. That honesty is the whole point of this site, and no commission is worth losing your trust over.
Where you'll see affiliate links
You may find affiliate links within our destination guides, experience recommendations, articles, and in booking widgets or buttons. We aim to make it obvious when a link will take you to a booking partner, and this disclosure also appears where relevant across the site.
Your choice
You are never obliged to use our affiliate links. If you'd rather go direct to a company's website, that's completely fine, and we'll still be glad the guide helped. But if you do find our content useful and choose to book through our links, it's a genuine, no-cost way to support the site, and we're grateful for it.
